If you couldn’t already tell we here at Boys With Banjos adore Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince. Patricia of Memi The Rainbow shares our affinity for the beloved children’s book, and has created a stamp set that pays homage to that beautiful tale. Packaged in a darling little wooden box, the collection features the lamb, fox, stars, planets and, of course, the Little Prince himself in bow-tie and button down attire. We are dying to get our hands on a set, but in the meantime, get a closer look at the adorable stamps below.
As her bio says, Patricia — the mastermind behind the whimsical felt jewelry and hand-carved stamps of Memi The Rainbow — is truly “an Italian girl living in Paris.” She looks to the city of Paris for inspiration, peeks outside of her window at the sun setting over rooftops across the way, and travels to flea markets for vintage children’s toy treasures. Patricia’s playful attitude, adoration for Parisian life and love for vintage toys and collectibles bleeds through to her art, with an array of stamps and felt mascots that pay homage to the City of Lights, pop-culture, childhood, and retro goodies. Patricia allowed us to glimpse inside her charming studio and gave us some insight into what influences her work — from walking the streets of Paris to her adorable “Lamp-Lapin.” Check out her lovely craft room overloaded with vintage collectables, hand-carved stamps, and jam-jars filled with fabric buttons, after the jump, and don’t forget to drop by Memi The Rainbow.

If you couldn’t already tell, we adore the 1960s and ’70s, and all that those two magical decades have influenced. Memi The Rainbow’s retro doll necklaces are just one example of crafts inspired by those years, with embroidered faces resembling the “Twiggy” mannequin heads that would model hats at boutiques. Patricia, the crafty mastermind behind Memi The Rainbow, not only creates adorable hand-carved stamps, but tries her hand at fashioning unique felt brooches. Her series of charm pins are created out of colorful felt and embroidery thread, featuring multiple charms inspired by the most important meal of the day — Breakfast! — Russian nesting dolls, mushrooms, and more on a large saftey pin. Check out the whimsical, petite pins below, and hit-up Patricia’s Etsy.

Inspired by her love of scrawling pen bow-ties, mustaches, glasses and bunny ears on the statuesque model boys and girls that grace magazines, the crafty lady behind Memi the Rainbow wanted to create a stamp collection that embodies this comical past time. Thus, her line of Make Me Droll stamps were born, with each collection featuring four themed, accessory-riddled stamps that evoke figures such as kings and queens, a bunny, a clown, and a Victorian gentleman. Doll-up your photos and ink-up magazine pages with these stamps, which you can peek at below and purchase over on Etsy.
