Back in September, we discovered Donkey and Friends, a collective of artists hailing from Austria who make gorgeous DIY paper lamps. Recently, the shop added new designs to their collection featuring woodland animals like owls, rabbits and foxes. We just adore the clean look of the geometric silhouettes, which are hand assembled and lend a beautiful glow to rooms. Whether you made it or someone else did, there’s always something so special about decorating with handcrafted work, which brings us to Patty Dear. The creation of a brother-sister duo, the shop is filled with unique plushes, miniature sculptures and paper art, and given that it’s nearly February 14th, we’re especially taken with their very sweet Valetine’s Day line, which you can spy below.
In Birmingham, UK lies a studio that whips up unique works of art doubling as functional decor called Raw Dezign. The studio’s collection of lighting, hanging planters and wall clocks all feature interesting textures and shapes, but what caught our eye is their mini-collection of skull pendants. Apropos for the times, the hanging lights are cast in two layers of resin and come in traditional white and black hues, making them perfect as an eccentric focal piece or a Halloween party staple. Get a closer look at the spooky skulls below, and head on over to Raw Dezign’s shop to spy more of their creations.

In a tune from her latest album, Regina Spektor sings “Oh baby, baby, it’s all about the moon.” Well, you didn’t have to tell that to the artists behind i3Lab. Drawing upon art, science and literature, the South Korea-stationed collective have assembled a mesmerizing selection of galaxy-inspired decor. Like the big beautiful moon, their creations illuminate with a soft glowing light once it gets dark, encapsulating the comfort and emotions one gets from gazing up at the stars, but indoors. Spy a few of i3Lab’s magical art, including “Clair de Lune” which the troupe deemed: “the world largest Moonlight wall-sticker,” after the jump.

Sometimes, we come across pieces of art that are way too unique to not talk about. Merve Kahraman’s rabbit chair is one of those works. The London-stationed designer created the chair as a part of her Hybrid series, which “was inspired by the mythologies of para-humans.” The Alice In Wonderland-channeling decor was totally handmade — complete with little paws and bunny ears — out of wood, paint lacquer and leather upholstery. Get a closer look at the adorable rabbit chair below, and check out Ms. Kahraman’s website for more.
