Soundtracked by the tunes of Neko Case, Joanna Newsom, Bell X1, Grizzly Bear, and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Laura Callaghan was inspired to create visual interpretations of her favorite songs for a mini-collection appropriately titled, Illustrated Playlist Tracks.  The South East London-dwelling illustrator put pen and paint to paper, transforming melodies and lyrics into imaginative drawings that fuse together the realms of music and illustration.  There’s also a slight Edward Gorey-vibe from the five-piece series — the subjects’ faces, in particular, which are painted with gloomy expressions and dark-rimmed eyes are reminiscent of the late-artist’s work.  Check out the interesting depictions, and have a listen to Ms. Callaghan’s playlist picks after the jump.
